Objectiveto explore the sleep status of the patients and analyze the risk factors associated with postoperative sleep disturbance in the patients undergoing noncardiac surgery.MethodsThe study comprised 318 patients were scheduled for elective noncardiac surgery. Searched for the basic data of the patients:gender, age, occupation, education, body mass index, ASA classification; whether hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes and other medical history and medication history; surgical history, laboratory test results, etc. In this study, preoperative medication, anesthesia and postoperative analgesic methods were not restricted at all. Athens insomnia scale were used to assess preoperative sleep situation of the patients. Anesthesia methods, methods of operation, operative time, blood loss and intraoperative hypotension were occurred. Pain intensity was evaluated using visual analog scale (VAS) after operation. Pittsbugrh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) was performed to evaluate the postoperative sleep disturbance on the 7th postoperative day and divided the patients into two groups. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to examine the relations between perioperative risk factors and postoperative sleep disturbance.Results1 Postoperative sleep disturbance was present in two hundred and seventy-three of the three hundred and eighteen patients at one week after surgery(84.8%).2 Univariate analysis showed that the age,BMI,sleep status, hypertension, diabetes, anesthesia methods, operative time, postoperative analgesia methods,VAS, blood loss during operation were significantly different between groupⅠand groupⅡ(P<0.05).3 Logistic regression analysis showed that the age, operative time, postoperative analgesia methods,VAS,blood loss during operation were significantly different between groupⅠand groupⅡ(P<0.05).Conclusion1 Postoperative sleep disturbance was present in two hundred and seventy-three of the three hundred and eighteen patients at one week after surgery(84.8%).2 The age, operative time, postoperative analgesia methods,VAS,blood loss during operation were the main risk factors of postoperative sleep disturbance in the patients undergoing noncardiac surgery.
