ObjectiveSummarize the nasal cavity and paranasal papilloma performance characteristics of CT or (and) MRI; To eval uate t he v alue of CT or (and) MRI in the staging system of inverted papilloma in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses; To discuss the primary site of NIP in the performance characteristics of CT or (and)MRI.MethodsCT or (and) MRI information and operation records of 42 cases with inverted papilloma in the nasal cavityand paranasal sinuses were analysed retrospectively.ResultsThe patients CT or (and) MRI scan showed the nasal cavity and sinus soft tissue mass, and involving the adjacent tissue, causing benign bone compression, absorption of destruction and sclerosis and other changes, uneven density lesions, light to medium degree increase; According to the staging system developed by John H. Krouse in 2000,42 cases were categorized into four stages based on operation and on CT or (and) MRI respectively. The two results of staging were compar ed. The stages on CT or (and) MRI and on operation matched and that unmatched were:stage T1 2 and 1, stageT2 7and 4 stage T3 20 and 2,stage T4 6 and 0, total was 35 and7; Surgery shows that a total of 21 cases of primary site, and the remaining cases the tumor more difficult to determine the primary site lesions.21 cases under CT or (and) MRI shows there are nine cases of primary site. Conclusion CT or (and)MRI of the NIP without specific performance of the NIP diagnosis certain limits. CT can clearly show the bone destruction, MRI lesions more clearly and accurately show the scope of violations, a combination of both to the diagnosis and treatment for the NIP to provide more comprehensive and accurate information. CT or (and)MRI for the NIP to conduct a more accurate preoperative grading, for the treatment of choice to provide important information. Early in the disease, lesions can be seen when the more limited primary site.
