ObjectiveTo assess effects of pregnancy on mother's cardiac function by two-dimensional ultrasound speckle tracking imaging(STI).MethodsThe cardiac functions of 30 cases were measured in a pregnant group, which are all primipara (gestational weeks is between 34 and 39, the average is 37.41±2.93) and check them at 6 weeks after their parturition.Basal and apical short axis images of left ventricle were acquired to analysis LV rotation(LVrot)and LVrot velocity. Peak twist(Ptw), some twisting parameters and basic ultrasound parameters are separately measured. The same indexes were measured in the 20 cases of control group, which have similar situation with the pregnant group.ResultsNot only LVRT, FS, EF, E/A, DE TE peak decline time change in pregnancy(P<0.05), but also Ptw, AVCtw, MVOtw, Untw R, HTU, PTV, PUV for left ventricular twisting change in pregnancy(P<0.05).ConclusionsLVtw can be measured noninvasively by 2-dimensional ultrasound STI in healthy women, and cardiac function changes are physiological reversible processes, especially diastolic function.
