ObjectiveTo apply the sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) on evaluating patients who were with mechanical ventilation in emergency intensive cure unit (EICU), and analysis the correlation factor of the ventilator weaning.MethodsThe 68 patients with mechanical ventilation were retrospectively analyzed and divided into 2 groups (success group and failure group) which was based on weaning results. SOFAs were counted at admission (SOFA1), ventilating(SOFA2) and 48h after ventilated(SOFA3), then a comparison was made between success group and failure group.ResultsThere are significant difference in SOFA1 SOFA2 SOFA3 between success group and failure group. The same condition was found inâ–³SOFA(SOFA2-SOFA3)(P<0.001). Spearman correlation analysis implicated that blood glucose(BG), albumen(ALB) and WBC had correlation with SOFA3ConclusionsSOFA shows its score correlated with the weaning, it is very important for us to predict the ventilator weaning by observing the changes of SOFA score.
