ObjectiveTo study the temporal changes of SP-A in acute lung injury induced by LPS.Methods48 SD rats were randomly divided into ALI and normal control groups (three subgroups in each group).LPS was given intraperitoneally in ALI group. The same amount of normal saline was given to the subjects in the control group.8 rats in each subgroup were killed at 24,48 and 72 hours after the injection. Immunohistochemistry was used for the detection of SP-A in the lung tissues.ResultsContrast to the control group,SP-A elevated at 24 hours——mean density 0.4779±0.0137 (P<0.01),and slipped to 0.4505±0.0093 (P>0.05)at 48 hours, till 72 hours SP-A slipped to 0.4063±0.0138(P<0.01).ConclusionThe changes of SP-A in lung tissues of ALI rats are time-dependent. SP-A in lung tissues has significant compensational potential.
