Objective:To observe and analyze the relationship between trabecular histomorphometic parameters, age and cancellous bone mean CT values. Methods:CT scan was given to the third lumber vertebral bodies of 146 adult, healthy males and 8 adult male cadavers, then cancellous bone mean CT values were measured. After which the cadavers 3rd lumber vertebral bodies were made into test pieces, the pictures were obtained by light microscope and histomorphometic parameters were observed and analyzed. All the datas were analyzed by SPSS13.0.Results:1 Trabecular bone histomorphometic parameter The number of trabecula increased with age before 50 years old, but decreased after. The length of trabecula increased with age, and the equation of linear regression was:y=1.945x+229.32 (r=0.127). The width of trabecula increased with age before 50 years old, but decreased after, and the equation of linear regression was:y=-0.510x+253.12 (r=0.048).2 cancellous bone mean CT value of diffent sites In general, cancellous bone mean CT value decreased with age, and the peak value appeared in the 20~group. The equation of linear regression between cancellous bone mean CT value and age were:horizontal plane mean:y=-2.259x+283.66 (r=0.95); coronal plane:y=-2.304x+284.58 (r=0.688); sagittal plane:y=-2.284x+283.66 (r=0.674). 3 relationship between Trabecular bone histomorphometic parameter and cancellous bone mean CT value Correlation coefficients between transversal, longitudinal and all trabecular length, width on coronal plane were as follows:0.486,0.447,0.466,0.327,0.147,0.253. Correlation coefficients between transversal and all trabecular length on sagittal plane were 0.489 and 0.210. Correlation coefficients between transversal, longitudinal and all trabecular width on sagittal plane were as follows:0.723,0.640,0.696.Conclusions:Age is an important factor that influenced trabecu lar bone hist-omorphometic parameters and cancellous bone mean CT value. After 50 years old, both trabecular bone histomorphom etic parameters and can-cellous bone mean CT values changed obv ious. Trabecular bone histomorphometic parameters have great In dividual differences and obvious anisotropy.
