Objective:Thyroid cancer is a common endocrine tumors, and its incidence on the rise.Diagnosis of thyroid carcinoma mainly relies on clinical symptoms, signs and Doppler ultrasound, ECT, and CT. Surgical management is the main method to treatment thyroid carcinoma, and chemotherapy and radiotherapy are used if necessary.most of can get good therapeutic effect.Pathological type clinical stage, lymph node metastasis and other factors of thyroid cancer, closely related to their prognosis. This study, we investigated p-Fascin, CTGF and Cyr61 expression in thyroid tumors, particularly the most common papillary carcinoma of thyroid. We also explore their expression in benign and malignant thyroid neoplasm whether differences exist and that difference is related to the progress and prognosis of thyroid cancer. The results will have clinical significance for thyroid carcinoma. Methods:The specimens of thyroid which are from the general surgery department of the First Hospital of Jilin University from January 2006 to March 2009 were exmined with immunohistochemical staining for p-Fascin, CTGF and Cyr61.As the experiment and the dyeing process lost pieces,off-chip or other reasons, so the final result can be used to carry out the analysis of samples:p-Fascin in 147 cases (benign tumors:30.PTC:107, FTC:6, MTC:4), CT-GF in 131(benign tumors:13, PTC:109, FTC:5 MTC:4), Cyr61 in 131 cases (benign tumor:12, PTC:109, FTC:6, MTC:4).All patients were followed up until March 1,2010.In addition to two cases of death due to other diseases in patients, no recurrence. The results were statistically analyzed using SPSS 17.0 software. Results:The expression of p-Fascin was significantly higher in cancer tissue than begnin thyoid tumor (p<0.05).And in papillary thyroid carcinoma, the expression of p-Fascin on the age or gender had no statistically significant (p>0.05), but on the UICC stage and lymph node metastasis had conspicuous effect(p<0.05).The expression of CTGF and Cyr61 both were significantly higher in cancer tissue than begnin thyoid tumor(p<0.05), and in papillary thyroid carcinoma, the expression of them on the age or gender had no statistically significant(p>0.05), but on the UICC stage and lymph node metastasis had conspicuous effect(p<0.05). CTGF and Cyr61 are the CCN family member.and they are TGF-(3 signaling pathway downstream regulatory genes. So they had correlation(r=0.454, p<0.01) in the presence of papillary thyroid carcinoma. So we could consider the p-Fascin, CTGF and Cyr61 has a vital significance in differentiating thyroid benign and malignant tumors, and on the development of papillary thyroid carcinoma and prognosis may also exist important reference and guide. While the relevance of CTGF and Cyr61 in papillary thyroid carcinoma suggesting that they influence each other in their own unique biological role to play.Conclusion:(1) The expression of p-Fascin was significantly higher in cancer tissue than begnin thyoid tumor (p<0.05).(2) In papillary thyroid carcinoma, the expression of p-Fascin on the age or gender had no statistically significant (p>0.05), but on the UICC stage and lymph node metastasis had conspicuous effect (p<0.05).(3) The expression of CTGF and Cyr61 were significantly higher in cancer tissue than begnin thyoid tumor(p<0.05).(4) In papillary thyroid carcinoma, the expression of CTGF and Cyr61 on the age or gender had no statistically significant (p>0.05), but on the UICC stage and lymph node metastasis had conspicuous effect (p<0.05).(5) CTGF and Cyr61 had correlation (r=0.454, p<0.01) in the presence of papillary thyroid carcinoma.
