[Objective]The healthy neonates should accord with the standard of neonate growing and development in the aspects of having a 37-40 weeks' gestation, height, weight, nervous, and movement without any complication. If not, the prognoses in the condition of premature birth, neonatal asphyxia, infection, etc, are influenced by many factors. Their growing development is hard to be estimated and these neonates are defined as subhealthy one. Those subhealthy neonates affect the population quality seriously. Therefore we process this large-scale, multi-center study to do the epidemiological research and to analyse risk factors of sub-healthy neonates based on population.[Methods]We extracted 14 cities of the province using the stratified cluster random sampling method and got the result of the risk factors which reflected the mean level of Shandong. A population-based case-control study was carried out on 1073 cases of sub-healthy neonates and 1073 controls from October,2008 to September,2009. The parents of cases and controls were interviewed with a questionnaire survey. We created database with Foxprow, calculated the incidence and made chi-square test to probe the statistical sense of exposure of risk factors using statistical software SPSS 15.0. Then made the multiple factor stepwise Logistic regression analysis and the best regression equation to estimate general dangerous degree and. calculated OR value and 95% CI.[Results]1. The incidence of the sub-healthy neonates is 3.71%. The epidemiological research showed that the incidences of sub-health neonates in rural was higher than in urban and in urban, the incidences of the western was higher than the eastern. The incidences of rural from high to low were the northwest region, southwest region, middle part and the southeast coastal areas.2.The chi-square test showed that Mothers Age,Father smoking,Father drinking, mother passive smoking,Genetic history, raising pets,high-income,maternal history of birth defects, spontaneous abortions, amniotic fluid pollution, stillbirth history, pregnancy complications, premature rupture of membrane, polyembryony, common cold accompanied fever, virusinfection, pregnancy hypertension, taking nalgesics, antibiotics, sedatives, tocolytic agent,hor-mone drugs, morthers' exposure to noise, video equipment, agricultural chemicals, organic solvents and bad moral irritate, fathers' exposure to hor-mone drugs had the relationship with sub-healthy neonates.3.Multiple factor logistic regression analysis showed that some risk factors were identified as having important effect on sub-healthy neonates, including mothers' age, fathers' smoking, mothers' passive smoking, raising pets, premature rupture of membrane, polyembryony, virus infection, pregnancy hypertension, taking nalgesics, tocolytic agent, morthers' exposure to noise, agricultural chemicals, and bad moral irritate, fathers' exposure to hor-mone drug. high-income was the protective factor of the sub-healthy neonates. [Conclution]1. The incidence of the sub-healthy neonates is 3.71%.2. The epidemiological research showed that the incidences of sub-health neonates in rural was higher than in urban and in urban, the incidences of the western was higher than the eastern. The incidences of rural from high to low were the northwest region, southwest region, middle part and the southeast coastal areas, it consistented with economic development overall.3.Multiple factor logistic regression analysis showed that some risk factors were identified as having important effect on sub-healthy neonates, including mothers' age, fathers' smoking, mothers' passive smoking, raising pets, premature rupture of membrane, polyembryony, virus infection, pregnancy hypertension, taking nalgesics, tocolytic agent, morthers' exposure to noise, agricultural chemicals, and bad moral irritate, fathers' exposure to hor-mone drug. high-income was the protective factor of the sub-healthy neonates.4. We should decrease the incidence of risk factors in order to reduce the sub-healthy neonates, including prenatal screening, strengthening nutrition, preventing gestational complications, infection, premature birth, neonatal asphyxia, kicking bad habits, avoiding psychic and environmental pathogenic factor and improving medical ethics.
