Study Of The Efficacy And Results Of"pedicle Subtraction Osteotomy"used In Treatment For Correction Of Kyphosis

1. Objectives: To Investigate the efficacy and results of"Pedicle Subtraction Osteotomy"used in treatment for correction of kyphosis。2. Materials and Methods: According to inclusion and exclusion criteria, we reviewed data in 36 patients who underwent treatment that using"PSO"for correction of kyphosis from department of orthopedics of the first clinical medical college of Fujian Medical University between 2007.01.01 and 2009 12.31. We adopt retrospective case analysis, telephone and/or out-patient follow-up study. Main outcome measures: The clinical data and the incidence of complications ;preoperative and postoperative JOA score, the improving rate of JOA;VAS and Beaujon-Lassale score;Imaging data[X-ray]: preoperative and postoperative lateral view of the Spine.3. Results: All of the Postoperative patients'Cobb angle were Significantly improved,so was their JOA,VAS and B-L scores。Their appearance and living and working conditions were improved than before with a low complication rate. Combining the Postoperative and follow-up inspection such as imaging data (X ray),all of them were not broken nails, broken rods, loose, or screw migration into the intervertebral foramen, spinal canal, etc.4.Conclusion:Pedicle subtraction osteotomy(PSO) makes the three columns of the spine to achieve a bone exposure with a low complication rate and a high fusion rate.Their follow-up cobb angels'loss is little.Its correction effect is reliable.It is a correction of kyphosis that in a more safe, effective and reliable surgical method.
