Observation Of Treatment With Free-edge Technique In Class â…¡division 1 Malocclusion

Objective: To investigate the dental alveolar changes in the classâ…¡division 1 malocclusion patients with Free-edge technique by extraction of four f irst bicuspids.Methods: Twenty-three classâ…¡division 1 malocclusion patients (6 males and 17 females ) were extracted four premolars . The cephalograms were compared before and after treatment with Free-edge technique.Results: After treatment , SNA,SNB,ANB,U1/SN,U1/NA,U1/NAmm were reduced. U1/L1 was increased obviously .Overjet was recuded by 6.16mm. (p<0.01). U1A-SP and U1E-SP were reduced by 3.22mm and 5.08mm ,whieUM-SP and LM-SP were increased. ULEnPog,LLEnPog were reduced obviously,while Z angel and NLA were increased greatly.Conclusion: Remarkable improvement on facial profile can be obtained in classâ…¡division 1 malocclusion patients treated with Free-edge technique. The torque of anterior teeth and anchorage of molars also can be managed successfully during treatment.
