Object: To find a feasible method to improve proprioception of injuried ankles in coaching or teaching, also provide reference for general population training to improve proprioception of injuried ankles, I tried to find the difference in improving proprioception of injuried ankles between the ankle plate training and the proprioceptive programme. Methods: Subjects included 30 students with unilateral ankle sprain(24 men, 6 women). They were randomly divided into three groups: group 1(n=10) trained with ankle plate besides coaching, group 2(n=10) followed the proprioceptive programme besides coaching, and group 3(n=10) coached normally. I assessed the ankle proprioception function of all the three groups by repositioning actively and passively before experiment, and I assessed their ankle proprioception function again twelve weeks later. All the data collected from the experiment was analyzed by SPSS for Windows 17.0.Results: Intra-group comparison: The proprioception of injuried ankles was significantly worse than healthy ankles before experiment in the three groups. The proprioception of injuried ankles was very significantly increased, the proprioception of healthy ankles did not changed significantly, and there was no significant difference in the proprioception of injuried ankle and healthy ankle in group 1 and group 2 after experiment. The proprioception of injuried ankles was significantly increased, the proprioception of healthy ankles did not changed significantly, and it were still significant different between the proprioception of injuried ankle and healthy ankle in group 3 after experiment. Compared among groups: There was no significant difference in the proprioception of injuried ankles or healthy ankles among the three groups before experiment. There was no significant difference in the proprioception of healthy ankles among the three groups after experiment, the proprioception of injuried ankles was not significant between group 1 and group 2, but the proprioception of injuried ankles was significant between group 1 and group 3, and between group 2 and group 3.Conclusions: The proprioception was decreased after lateral ankle ligament injuried. Both ankle plate and the proprioceptive programme could improve the proprioception of injured ankles, and there was no difference between them. The proprioception of injuried ankles of group 3 was increased too after experiment, in spite of no pertinent training. But the improvement degree of proprioception in group 3 is less than group 1 and group 2 in the same period.
