Objective : Neuroimaging studies have shown that the frontal lobe function of schizophrenia is damaged. Working memery is the major function supported by the frontal lobe. Working memory play an important role in the more advanced thinking, language, targeted behavior. The article aims to explore the differences of the three working memory tasks'performance between the schizophrenia patients and the controls. Methods: To give 44 schizophrenia patients and 40 gender-,age-matched healthy persons working memory tests about space, verbal, face, then compare the performance and reaction time between the two groups. To analyse the relationship between the accurate rate of the working memory and symptoms of schizophrenia.Result: The accurate rate of the space and face working memory of the patients is lower than that of the healthy persons, space working memory (patients:86.12+12.4%,controls:91.63+6.18%,p1=0.014),face working memory (patients:63.01+ 9.04 %,controls:69.14+9.24%,p2=0.003),while the accurate rate of the verbal working memory did not show any significant differences between the two groups. The patients spent more time on the three working memory tests than the controls. Schizophrenic thought disorder factor scores, factor scores of hostile suspicion and spatial working memory reaction time is positively correlated. There is negtively correlated between them and accurate rates of the working memory. Suspicion and hostility factor scores and face working memory reaction time is positively correlatedConclusion:The patients showed disproportion impairment on the space, verbal and face working memory, probably because the disease injures the different encephalic region...
