Objectives:The study was to investigate the occupational hazards status of nurses and knowledge, attitudes, behavior status quo of nursing occupational protection in Taiyuan. Analyse the differences in occupational hazards and the knowledge, attitudes, behaviour of occupational protection among nurses with different attributes.To strengthen the importance of occupational hazards and improve the awareness of protection of nursing staff, Provide a scientific basis for the effective implementation of protective measures and strategies for nurses.Method:Using convenience sampling method, A questionnaire survey was conducted on 700 clinic nurses from 3 grade 3 general hospitals and 3 grade 2 general hospitals, The questionnaire quoted the "Nursing Occupational Risk Assessment Questionnaire"developed by Li Hong and Self-designed "Knowledge, Attitude and Behaviour of Nursing Occupational Protection Questionnaire". All statistical data was analysed by using the statistical package for social science (SPSS 13.0).Results:1. The survey of occupational hazards status of nurses from six general hospitals in Shanxi Province showed the average total occupational risk index was 292.53,A11 kinds of hazards the average index was 10.09 and was not allowed to risk.Human ergonomics,and psycho social, organizational hazard risk index was 96.98,33%of total occupational risk index.2 second grade risks and 10 third risks in all of 29 different hazards.'Because of the frequent shifts and night shifts and overtime caused by physical damage,psychological pressure,family disharmony'was highest risk,15.80.'Psychological stress and job frustration by career being not respected, fewer opportunities for promotion, distribution unreasonable, low-paying, demanding job, interpersonal discord and nursing dying patients was second risk,15.57.2. The Risk Index scores of nurses with different working years had significant difference. >20 working years of nurses had the highest scores on various occupational risk perception, the Risk Index scores of different tittles of the nurses had significant difference.Risk Perception Index score of deputy director of the nurse was significantly higher than that of other titles nurses.the Risk Index scores of the nurses with different educational levels did not had significant difference.the Risk Index scores of the nurses with different qualifications had significant difference.third hospitals and the risk index was higher than second hospitals risk index. 3. The survey of occupational hazards status of nurses from six general hospitals in Shanxi Province showed:There were not significant differences in knowledge and practice of occupational protection among nurses with different working years,but significant differences in attitudeof occupational protection; There were significant differences in knowledge and practice of occupational protection among nurses with different educational levels,but not significant differences in attitude of occupational protection; There were significant differences in knowledge, attitude and practice of occupational protection among nurses with professional titles.The nurses with bachelor degree or above had the highest scores in knowledge and attitude of occupational protection; There were significant differences in the practice of occupational protection among nurses with different grade hospitals; There were positive correlations among nurses'knowledge, attitude and practice of occupational protection.Conclusions:1. The first nursing occupational hazards of six general hospitals in Shanxi Province was human ergonomics,psycho-social,organizational,occupational hazards.The second was biological occupational hazards.The nurses with different working years, educational levels and professional titles had different perception of occupational risks. The occupational risks was different in different level of hospitals and different departments.2. The nurses with different working years, educational levels,professional titles, departments and grade hospitals had different scores in knowledge and attitude of occupational protection; There were positive correlations among nurses'knowledge, attitude and practice of occupational protection.
