WHO further projects that by 2015, approximately 2.3 billion adults will be overweight and more than 700 million will be obese.Overweight and obesity" is one of the world wide disease of concerns. It is important that many diseases root from the obesity endangering life. The obesity itself may also affect the daily activities with significant social and economic costs. Taking a broad view of the efforts spent on this disease in the world, it seems that there is still no method which can totally solve this problem. But the traditional and modern medicine, there are some points complementing each other to solve this disease.Therefore, this clinical trials research, attempts to take a better understanding of " Auricular Acupressure and diet control " reduce weight issues and a more reasonable concept in the health care of Overweight and obesity patients can be attained.Method:90 cases of " overweight and obesity" students, they are came from the junior middle school of the Taipei Taiwan.they were randomly divided into 3 group, those who did the 30 cases of ear-acupoint group, and 30cases of ear-acupoint combined diet control group, and 30 cases of diet control group. Observed three groups of " overweight and obesity" students and the clinical efficacy of the weight loss indicator (such as BMI), and then carry out comparative study of efficacy. To establish databases and use statistical analysis of SPSS16.0." Auricular acupressure " used to select auricular points are -- Wei, Pi, Shenmen, Jidian, Sanjiao, endocrine, Xiaochang, Dachang etc. and use 2-3 point to treated. That adding or reducing point with the symptoms, for example: asthma added to fei, easily hungry added to Jidian, sleepiness added to Shenmen, lower extremity edema added to Sanjiao etc. those cases which using the seed of Wangbuliuxing held in place on the ear with a small piece of adhesive tape before dine, and limited to feeling ache. That treated replacing in 3 days, and 10times for one course,and need three course to treatment.The diet control group:treated with the Recommended Daily Nutrient Allowance daily caloric removed 500 kcal, and assigned to three meals every day.The Auricular acupressure combined diet control group which used the Auricular acupressure added to diet control. Results:After 3 period of treatment, the cases who are clinic control, better available, available and invalidation of the" Auricular acupressure "therapy group is 5,9,9,7. (total effective rate of 76.66%), the " Auricular acupressure combined diet control" group is respectively 8,11,7,4. (total effective rate of 86.67%), "The diet control group" is 2,5,14,9. (total effective rate of 70.00%). it shows the total efficiency of the " Auricular acupressure combined diet control group " is the best of the three, and weight reduce achieve a satisfactory clinical efficacy. that compared with the " Auricular acupressure and "The diet control group" was a significant differences (P<0.05).Chi-square test (x 2-test) Show that three methods of treatment are significant differences. ConclusionAfter treatment of used the single "Auricular acupressure", or the single "diet control ", result show there are over 70% can to reduce weight, but the "t" test show not effective. The "Auricular acupressure combined diet control" therapy, show it is more effective than single "Auricular acupressure" or single "diet control "; and weight reduce change there are difference. which illustrates "Auricular acupressure combined diet control" therapy improves efficacy for synergy. And confirmed that the traditional and modern medicine, there are some points complementing each other to solve the " overweight and obesity".
