Study The Prevention On Atherosclerosis And Effect On Inflammation Factors Of Rosuvastatin In Atherosclerotic Rabbits

ObjectiveTo study the prevention on atherosclerosis and effect on inflammation factors of rosuvastatin in atherosclerotic rabbitsMethodsTwenty-one male rabbits were randomly divided into control(n=7), high-choleterol diet group(n=7) and rosuvastatin group(n=7). The rabbits were killed by the end of the 16th week. The levels of blood lipid, interleukin(IL-6) and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(VCAM-1) were measured respectively at the beginning and the end of 8th week and 16th week; Pathological examination was performed after the death of rabbits.ResultsBy the end of the 8th and 16th week, rosuvastatin and control groups had show low level of total cholesterol(TC), low-density lipoprotein(LDL), IL-6, VCAM-1 than high-choleterol diet group (P<0.05). Compare to high-choleterol diet group the area of atheromatous Plaqu were lower in Rosuvastatin and control groups (P<0.05).ConclusionRosuvastatin could play preventive role in AS and reduce the level of lipids, IL-6 and VCAM-1.
