ObjectivesThe aim of this study was to effect of removal plaque with different kinds of toothbrushes and measures of cleaning tooth in patients wearing fixed appliances.MethodsSelected 60 standard subjects were randomly divided into A, B, C, D four different treatment groups, records of the plaque index of each patient in four areas before and after brushing patients'teeth themselves. On A, B, C, D four groups analysis of variance on the A, B, C, D four groups to calculate the amount of plaque removal and plaque removal efficiency.ResultsFirst District and Second District, the group A and B was no significant difference in plaque, group C and D were no significant differences, but the A,B and C, D values between the plaque was significantly different,in which plaque group D The maximum removal efficiency were 61.20±8.19%,52.73±4.13% after brushing.Third District and Fourth District, after brushing, there was no significant difference between groupA and group B,but group C was significant difference with group D,the between group C and group A,B were significant differences, group D and group A,B group also significant differences,in which plaque removal efficiency of D group were the highest, 52.28±4.79%,49.83±4.71% in the third and fourth district.ConclusionsPatients wearing fixed orthodontic appliances using the correct brushing method can reduce the number of dental plaque,if coupled with the use of orthodontic toothbrush, plaque removal rate will increase.
