Purpose:To study the correlation of Keratoconus Index(KI), KISA% and the Krumeich's Classification, using ultrasound biomicroscope(UBM) and videokeratography examination. And to evaluate the clinical use of UBM.Methods:We studied 11 eyes with different forms of keratoconus and 2 eyes after penetrating keratoplasty using UBM and videokeratography examination, and calculated the KI, KISA%. Then we studied the correlation of Keratoconus Index(KI), KISA% and the Krumeich's Classification. Results:For Krumeich's Classification, there were 3 eyes with 1st stage,2 eyes with 2nd stage,5 eyes with 3rd stage,1 eye with 4th stage. By means of UBM examination, we found values of TCT 0.30mm~0.46mm (mean 0.39mm), PCT 0.46mm-0.58mm (mean 0.53mm), KI 1.112-2.159 (mean 1.428). Using videokeratography examination, we found of KISA% 11.4%~4319.7%(mean 973.2%). There was one eye that we could not get the report by videokeratography examination. From the images of the 2 postkeratoplasty eyes, we can see that the grafts were connect with the own cornea tightly. Conclusion:KI is well correlated with KISA% and Krumeich's Classification. The UBM can be used as an good method for diagnosis and follow-up of patients suffering from keratoconus. It also can be used to follow up the condition of postkeratoplasty eyes.
