| As the development of science and technology, the material and technology of bleaching had also made a great progress. Beyond whitening accelerator technology bleaches colored teeth, using hydrogen peroxide of high concentration, under the exposure to cold light source. The bleaching efficacy is obvious, the clinical time of therapy is short, and the side effect to dental pulp and gingival is very low, making it has extensive application clinically.This experiment is done on the patients who took Beyond whitening accelerator technique to whiten teeth at department of prosthodontics, school of stomatology, JiLin University, during May, 2009 and March, 2010. We took photos of coloured teeth using digital camera of uniform set up at standard environment before and after bleaching, and every exposure to cold light source, analyzed the photos with colour analysis software, studied the changes of L*,a*,b* at the middle 1/3 of teeth, and the degree of variation, the difference betweenΔE at the gingival, middle and incisal of the teeth, the difference betweenΔE at every exposure to cold light source in the middle 1/3 of teeth, in order to provide theoretical basis for the choice of clinical bleaching indications and the judgement of prognosis, to search for a more exactive, a more sensitive way to evaluate the effect of bleaching, to adjust the number and time of exposure to cold light source, and to achieve the maximum effect of bleaching.In this study, we used colour analysis software to fix points and get colour of teeth, and displayed photos in the software were 36.33% of real pixel. We divided the teeth into 3 parts according to the distance along gingival to incisal at the long axis, got a point at the center of every region. For incisors, we fixed two points at 5mm mesial and distal to the center point; For cuspid teeth and premolar teeth, we made 2 points at 2.5mm and 5mm mesial to the center point respectively. The line decided by the above 3 points should be perpendicular to the long axis of the tooth. We measured the value of L*, a* and b* of the points using color analysis software, and calculated the mean value of L*, a* and b* of the three points in every area. Then we calculatedΔE of cervical, middle and incisal before and after bleaching, and every exposure to the cold light source during the treatment according to the following formula, and made statistical analysis.ΔECIE(L*,a*,b*)=[(ΔL*)2+(Δa*)2+(Δb*)2]1/2Conclusion:1. After the bleaching, the shade selection raised by 6 shade guide in averge using Vitapan Classical Shade Guide, so Beyond whitening accelerator technology is effective.2. There's great changes in the value of L*, a* and b* of the middle 1/3 of the anterior and posterior teeth comparing the value of before bleaching with that of after bleaching. The changes have great significance (P<0.001).3. During the bleaching, the value of a* and b* of the middle 1/3 of anterior and posterior teeth change obviously, while that of L* is relatively unobvious.4. The value ofΔE has great significance in cervical and middle of anterior teeth (P<0.05). There's no difference between middle and incisal, cervical and incisal (P>0.05). There's no difference among the value ofΔE of cervical, middle and incisal of the posterior teeth (P>0.05).5. During the bleaching, there are great changes betweenΔE1-0 andΔE2-1,ΔE1-0andΔE3-2 of anterior and posterior teeth comparing the value of every exposure to the cold light source (P<0.001), and there's difference betweenΔE2-1 andΔE3-2 (P<0.05). |
