Objective:To investigate the effects of ulinastatin on perioperative cerebral injury in patients with rheumatic heart disease undergoing open heart surgery and explore the possible mechamism. Methods:A total of twenty-four patients undergoing selective cardiac valve replacement operation were randomly divided equally into 2 groups:ulinastatin group(Group U,n=12)and control group(Group C,n=12). The patients in group U received ulinastatin at 20000U/kg which was given during CPB and added to the primary solution. In Group C normal saline was instead of ulinastatin. Artery Blood samples were taken after induction of anesthesia(T1),0.5h after CPB beginning(T2), 1h(T3) and 4 h(T4) after CPB termination for determination of IL-6,TNF-αS100p and NSE by ELISA. Every patient also applied MoCA before and 24h after operation. Results:Compared with T1 in both groups at T2-4 plasma levels of IL-6,TNF-α,S100P and NSE were all higher(P
