| Objective:To compare the various data between laparoscopic pyeloplasty and open surgery doing at the same time,and to discuss the feasibility and healing effect of the laparoscopic pyeloplasty in the treatment of ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO).Methods:Clinical data of 68 cases of UJPO treated with surgery in our institute from 2007 to 2009 were investigated retrospectively.Of the 68patients,28underwent the operation of LDP,40were subjected with ODP.In the study,we compared the clinical data between the 2 groups including the operative time,intraoperative estimated loss,postoperative intestinal function recovery time,postoperative hospital stay.Results:All of the operations were successfully.There were no severe peri-or postoperative complications that could be related to the operations.In no instance did the laparoscopic procedure need to converted to open surgery.In the LDP group,the operative time, intraoperative estimated loss,postoperative intestinal function recovery time,postoperative hospital stay,total cost of hospitalization and use of antalgesci were (155.50±28.49) min, (29.29±23.24) ml, (28.71±7.52) h, (11.21±2.83) d.And the datas in the open group were (92.90±27.98) min, (68.42±32.49) ml, (41.60±10.43) h, (9.35±2.24) d. The intraoperative estimated loss,postoperative intestinal function recovery tme,postoperative hospital stay in the LDP group were significantly less than in the open group(P＜0.001), while the operative time was more than in the open group(P＜0.01).Conclusion:Compared with the ODP,there has no obviously difference on the safety and feasibility.LDP has several advantages over ODP,namely less blood loss,smaller wound,less pain and more rapid recovery and so on.We belive that it is suitable to replace the open pyeloplasty,it is the direction of the operation to treat UPJO.With timeand experience and the development of laparoscopic techniques,the operative time could be equal to open operations.
