Self-Directed Learning (SDL) is actually a kind of especial study mode by oneself, and it is a activity course that individual accomplish something by oneself or other helping. In this course, they find their study demand, study out study aim by oneself, confirm their manpower and matter resource, select and implement proper study strategy themselves, and evaluate study fruit. The dominant element and typical characteristic are"Self Directed", teacher make an instruct action.Early SDL root in adult education field of Hesperian, introject in"study for life"theory and practice of Hesperian, bring forward and develop the research field of"Self Learning". Apply with teach by correspondence and adult education for a long time, so result in the"Self Learning"research and practice climax in elementary and high school education and courses innovation. It is applied with clinic nursing teaching.Nurse course is a applied science for serving human health which possessed humanities character, sociality, practice character, many schola consider that nurse teaching system is not efficiency presently, the student of nursing practice feel maladjustment and not master clinic skill ability, so we advocate nurse teaching reformation in which capability is central.Clinic practice is a tache from theory to practice, is school teaching deep and continuous, is key period for transform knowledge into all kinds of ability. Come into 21st century, along with improving health need, changing medical technology and drastic compete stress, only once schooling is not content to the need of durative development. So learning study for life, adapting to study society become a problem which people of the present age are up against."give somebody fish"is not as good as"teaching somebody fishing", bringing up student's study abilities by oneself is a trend for adapting era development and according with educational need.This study adopt in SDL teaching method in nursing clinical teaching, we assess the nurse student for occupation diathesis, basic skill, basic theory, nurse document writing, whole nurse abilities, communicating abilities, judging ideation and satisfaction for patient to nursing student, compared with traditional nursing teaching method, the purpose is that search after scientific clinic nursing teaching method, export integrated nursing person with ability and provide clinic teaching reform with gist.The study objects of this study are nursing students who practice in Gynecology and Obstetrics, they practiced from June 2008 to January 2009., technological academy's students are sixty-five, undergraduate students are thirty-three, the study objects are 98 together, we divide into two groups according with school calendar and exam achievement of nursing theory, adopt traditional teach method and SDL method separately, every groups have 49 students. Experiment group is adopted in SDL teaching method, practice site is the first cure section, comparison group is adopted traditional teaching method, practice site is the second cure section. Every group teachers are seven people, they are undergraduate, work for five years long, qualify teaching, students were assessed by the same teachers in occupation diathesis, basic skill, basic theory, nurse document writing, whole nursing abilities, communicating abilities, judging ideation and satisfaction for patient before students finish practice. Data are deal with in SPSS13.0 statistic software, it is statistically significant ( p<0.05).The result indicate that scores of SDL group is higher than of traditional group in special nursing knowledge, whole nursing abilities, nursing equipment using, nursing record papers writing, judging ideation and communicating abilities six aspect, difference has statistical significance. It is not statistical significance difference in occupation diathesis (involve service attitude, study attitude, discipline aspect and appearance four aspect); The satisfaction of patient in hospital for nursing student is statistical significance difference except for servicing of hang card, appearance wearing, ring responsion, nursing circumspect several aspect.Our hospital as a teaching hospital, was charge with a large number of nursing teaching task annually, because of particular clinic environment and influence of education idea, teacher finish task is difficult, students need to practise, explore and make a choice. To bring up study abilities by oneself is basic ability and benefit from it all life, it is a import aspect for bringing up innovation abilities.This paper expect to provide a simple reference for clinic nursing teaching via a series of discussing and study. It is innovative for bringing SDL into clinic nursing teaching, clinic nursing teaching is different from teaching in class, the content combine into clinic practice, it is not restrict with teaching material. The clinic resource is quite abundant, include actual case, full course of diseases register paper of doctor, nursing record paper of nurse, relatively strict and external doctor's advice paper, teachers of many practice experience, library which refer to datum of internet in hospital, but nursing students are divided into different groups to practice, and hold some theory knowledge, so to push SDL teaching mode is feasible.We advocate SDL teaching mode, it have many merit compare with traditional teaching mode, certainly we do not negate traditional teaching entirely, considering different condition of hospital, agile application accord with student character.SDL is a new mode after all, we meet some mistake (now that study by oneself, why we need to teacher participate in?), some place need to perfect and improve. It is necessary trend accord with era development to bring up SDL ability, it is worthy to do more investigation.
