Objective:To evaluate auxiliary value for diagnose solitary pulmonary nodule(SPN) based on Multi-Slice spiral CT(MSCT) LungCARE software by measuring volume double time(VDT) and volume enhanced degree.Materials and Methods:There were sixty-six cases conforming to SPN standard, even density and pathologically proved or final diagnosis.A total of 66 cases mean 47.9 years,range:12-76 years.There were thirty-seven Male cases and twenty-nine Female cases. Nodule's diameter range from 5 to 29mm in the first examination,including forty-one malignant nodules and twenty-five benign nodules.There were 48 cases which examined once more above one month,33 cases which were performed enhanced CT scanning.All cases were processed reconstruction by 0.75mm and communicate data to Picture Archiving and Communication System(PACS).To reexamined a group,Any of these cases,was also measured maximum diameter of SPN by the cross section image and volume by LungCARE software,then calculated doubling time(DT) with two methods.To enhanced CT scanning a group,manual metrical enhanced degree by cross section image and volume enhanced degree by LungCARE software.At last,Useing each calculated result each group case and unite characteristic of the cross section image.Referring to synthesis sign neural network analytical do study on these result for SPN to carry on grading,the rank to forecast,and nodule was determinated malignant or benign.After,result of two methods was carried on the statistical analysis for each group case.Results:(1) Applying Diameter to calculate DT and applying volume to calculate volume Double time(VDT) in addition of characteristic of nodule by cross section image, sensitivity,specificity,accuracy was 83.3%,75.0%,79.2%and 95.8%,87.5%,91.7%,for diagnosis malignant nodule.Chi-square test to compare between two methods,P<0.05.As the difference,it had the meaning of statistics. (2) Enhanced degree by cross section image and volume enhanced degree,in addition of characteristic of nodule in cross section image,sensitivity,specificity,accuracy was 80.0%,76.9%,62.1%and 85.0%,76.9%,72.4%for diagnosis malignant nodule.Chi-square test to compare between two measure methods,P>0.05.It had no significantly statistical difference between two measure methods.Conclusion:(1) VDT direction was exacter than DT calculated by radiologists measured diameter for diagnosis malignant nodule.(2) It had no significantly statistical difference between enhanced degree by cross section image and volume enhanced degree by LungCARE for even SPN diagnosed.But It was fast and convenient method by LungCARE soft-ware,and decreased PACS memory.
