Objective To study the change and its clinical significance of serum erythropoietin(EPO) of acute myocardial infarction(AMI) patients.Method Selected 40 patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) and 36 unstable angina patients(UAP) from First Hospital of Lanzhou University to detect the level of EPO in serum and serum CK-MB,and 36 healthy adult subjects were served as controls. The serum EPO was measured by Enzyme-linked ImmunoSorbent assay(ELISA).Result(1) There is no significant difference in blood components which includes peripheral blood WBC,RBC,HBG,HCT,PLT between the AMI group,UAP group and normal control group(P>0.05).(2)The content of serum EPO of AMI group and UAP group were significantly higher than those of normal control group, (P<0.01,P<0.05),and The serum EPO content of AMI group was significantly higher than that of UAP group,(P<0.05).(3)Serum CK-MB level of AMI group was significantly higher than that of the UAP group and the control group, and there was a negative correlation between serum EPO levels and serum CK-MB level in AMI group(r=-0.562,P<0.05).Conclusion EPO contant is increased with stress response in patients with acute myocardial infarction, and is negatively correlated to the infarction size.We can obtain a lot of data to guide the clinica use of EPO in patients with acute myocardial infarction by this study.
