ObjectiveCommon and new identified viral etiology of acute respiratory tract infection among children in Lanzhou area is learned, and also, basic data and scientific evidence of prevention and control with ARTI is supplied.Subjects and Methods1.255 NPAs specimens were collected from children with acute respiratory infections in Lanzhou area from December 2007 to November 2008.2.RSV,HRV,Influenza A and B,Parainflurnzal-3,HMPV,HCoV-NL63, HCoV-HKU1,ADV,HBoV,WUPyV and KIPyV were detected by RT-PCR and standard PCR methods.HBoV2 and HRV-C were also tested by nested-PCR and RT-PCR methods. The amplicons were sequenced.3.Epidemiology and clinical manifestations of each virus were analyzed.Results1.Among the 255NPAs specimen, the rate of total viruses detection was 78.0%(199/255),of which for RSV was 41.5%(106/255),for ADV was 27.1%(69/255),for HRV was 17.6%(45/255),for PIV3 was3.9%(10/255),for IFVA was 1.6%(4/255),for IFVB was 2.7%(7/255),for HBoV was 7.5%(19/255), for HMPV was 6.7%(17/255),for Hcov-HKU1 was 4.3%(11/255),for WUPyV was5.5%(14/255) and for KIPyV was6.7%(17/255).PIV1,2 and HCoV-NL63 were not detected. The detection rates of males and females were 77.7%(129/166) and 78.7%(70/89),the ratio of male to female was 1.84:1.The detected rate was no significant difference between male and female.(P=0.989>0.05).The median ages of the viruses infected patients was 28 months(range from 10 days to 177 months),59.8%(119/199) children with viruses infection were under 1 year of age;18.1%(36/199) children were at age from 1 to 3 years;13.1%(26/199) children were at age from 3 to 5 years;9.0%(18/199) children were older than 5 years old. There are remarkable seasonal distributions of viral respiratory tract infections in Lanzhou area,Viral respiratory tract infections predominated in spring and winter.2.The detection ratio of HBoV2 is 3.9%.The sequence of positive products shared high homology of 97%~98%.Single nucleotide mutation and nucleotide insertion were found.Among the HBoV2-positive patients,9 were male and one was female. There is no statistically significant difference between male and famale(x~2=1.814,P=0.178>0.05) according to the detection ratios. The median ages of the infected patients were 8.5 months(range from 3.5 months to 40 months),90%(9/10) were=3 years of old.HBoV2 was detected in January,April, June,July,August,October and December. The maximum number of positive cases was 3 which was found in April.70%(7/10) of all HBoV2-positive patients were found coinfected with other viruses,in which RSV was the most common additional respiratory virus. The main admission diagnoses included acute upper respiratory infection, acute bronchopneumonia, acute bronchitis and bronchiolitis, the most diagnoses of which were bronchiolitis3 The detection ratios of HRV-C is 9.4%.The sequence of positive products shared homology of 78%~99%.Among the HBoV2-positive patients,14 were male and 10 were female. There is no statistically significant difference between male and famale(x~2=2.19,P=0.139>0.05) according to the detection ratios. The median ages of the infected patients were 10.5 months(range from 1 months to 52 months),81%were=1 years of age.,HRV-C was detected in every month except February,June,August,41.6%(10/24) of all HBoV2-positive patients were found coinfected with other viruses,in which RSV was the most common additional respiratory virus. The main admission diagnoses included acute upper respiratory infection, uppurative tonsillitis, acute bronchopneumonia, acute bronchitis, pneumonia and bronchiolitis, the most diagnoses of which were bronchiolitis.Conclusions1.Viral infection is the main reason for children with ALRTI in Lanzhou area, and the incidence of viruses was 78.0%.2.RSV,ADV and HRV are major causes of respiratory tract infections in children. In addition, recently identified HMPV,HBoV,HCoV-HKU1,WUPyV and KIPyV,all play important roles in respiratory tract infections in Lanzhou. Viral Respiratory Tract Infections for children is mainly found in the group of under age of 5,especially under age of 3.In Lanzhou area, there is remarkably seasonal for Viral respiratory tract infections which predominated in spring and winter.3 Detection of HBoV2 in children with acute respiratory tract infections in Lanzhou area. The detection rate of HBoV2 is 3.9%.The detection ratio of HBoV2 between boys and girls were not deferent significantly. The majority of children positive for HBoV2 were less than 3 years old.The most diagnoses were bronchiolitis.4 Detection of HRV-C in children with acute respiratory tract infections in Lanzhou area. The detection rate of HRV-C is 9.4%.The detection ratio of HBoV2 between boys and girls were not deferent significantly. The majority of children positive for HBoV2 were less than 1 years old.The most diagnoses were bronchiolitis.
