Objective To examine the expression of Toll-like receptor(TLR) 4 mRNA in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC) from patients with hepatitis B vires (HBV) infection and explore the relationship between TLR4 and chronic HBV infection. Methods the expression level of TLR4 were determined by Quantitative real-time PCR respectively in PBMC from 28 chronic hepatitis B patients,25 liver cirrhosis patients and 10 healthy controls. The level of serum TGF-βwas detected by ELISA.Meanwhile,HA,LN,PCⅢand CⅣwas measured.Result The expression level of TLR4 in patients were higher than those in healthy controls(P<0.01).And the TLR4 expression level was significantly positively correlated with semm TGF-βlevel(r=0.875,P<0.01),as well as the level of HA,LN,PCⅢand CⅣ(r=0.647,0.525,0.556,0.682,respectively).Conclusion the upregulated expression of TLR4 in patients with chronic HBV infection were significantly related with the degree of liver fibrosis and the development of the disease.
