In this article,the writter discussed about the law of synergy of drugs for regulating Qi flow in prescriptions.Firstly,the author probe into the meaning of Qi and Regulating Qi flow.We divided 59 herbs which carried the function of regulating Qi flow into three types,including the medicine of dispersing lung Qi,the medicine of regulating Qi-flowing for harmonizing stomach and the medicine of dispersing stagnated liver Qi.Secondly,through analyzing the law of synergy of 194 herbs for regulating Qi flow used in 17 types of prescriptions,it could be found that drugs for regulating Qi flow not only are effective in syndrome of disorder of Qi flow,but also are beneficial for removing both tangible pathologic product of phlegm syndrome,fluid retention syndrome,dampness syndrome,syndrome of blood stasis and indigestion and intangible product of fire-toxicity syndrome and syndrome of exogenous disease.And drugs for regulating Qi flow have been used as assistant drugs in prescriptions,too.In conclusion,though medicines for regulating Qi flow are not the major parts in prescriptions,it has been used largely in non-formulas for activating Qi flowing.This indicated the features of distinction and treatment,holism,and relative equilibrium of body which traditional Chinese medicine emphasized.
