The Study On Clinic Of The Therapeutic Method By Wen Bu Shen Yang On The Type Of Shen Yang XV Of Primary Hypothyroidism

Objective: To explore theoretically and clinically the theory basis and clinical treatment byinvigorating kidney-yang to cure primary hypothyroidism belonging to kidney-yang deficiencysyndrome, observe symptoms, signs, TGAB, TMAB, TC and TG level before and aftertreatment with modified kidney-qi Decoction, and evaluate its clinical effect. Safety of thedecoction is evaluated through observation of blood routine test, urine routine test, fecal routinetest, liver and kidney function test, electrocardiogram and adverse consequences.Methods: Ninety patients with primary hypothyroidism in kidney-yang deficiency syndromeare divided randomized and evenly into herbal medicine group(treated with modifiedkidney-qi Decoction ), integrated group(treated with modified kidney-qi Decoction plusEuthyrox) and control group(treatment with Euthyrox), each with thirty cases. The threegroups are all observed for 2 courses, which last for eight weeks. Major observed contentsinclude the symptoms and signs, abnormal thyroxin level, immune indicator concerningthyroid as well as blood fat level before and after treatment.Results:①For improvement of clinical symptoms and signs, herbal medicine group shows evident effect, with excellently-effective rate of 33.33% and total effective rate of 90.00%; integrated group presents the excellently-effective rate of 36.67% and total effective rate of 96.67%; while control group demonstrates the excellently-effective rate of 23.33% and total effective rate of 70.00%. Thus the herbal medicine group and integrated group have a better therapeutic effect than control group (p<0.01).②For improvement of thyroid function, patients in herbal medicine group and integrated group show a obvious elevation of thyroxin level, with significant difference compared with that before treatment(p<0.01); improvement of TSH after treatment in integrated group has a significant difference versus that in herbal group and control group(p<0.05). These illustrate that Euthyrox plus modified kidney-qi decoction has a better therapeutic effect in meliorating thyroid function than simple use of Euthyrox, and modified kidney-qi decoction possesses the function of improving or supportive to improve thyroid function.③For effect of lowing antibody level, patients in herbal medicine and integrated group both have a substantial decrease in antibody level, with a significance difference compared with that before treatment(p<0.01); significance difference also exits between herbal group and control group as well as between integrated group and control group(p<0.01); while herbal medicine and integrated group show a significant difference concerning decrease of antibody level(p<0.05). All these demonstrate that the herbal decoction functions better than Euthyrox in terms of lowing antibody level and meliorating immune system function, and integrationof herbal medicine and western medicine is better than simple use of herbal medicine or western medicine.④For effect of lowing blood lipid, patients in herbal medicine group and integrated group have a substantial decrease in TG and TC level compared with that before treatment, and there is a significant difference between herbal group and control group as well as between integrated group and control group(p<0.05). These illustrate that Euthyrox plus modified kidney-qi decoction has a better curative effect in lowing blood lipid than simple use of herbal medicine or western medicine.⑤Adverse effects are shown neither in herbal medicine patients nor integrated group patients after taking the medicines.Conclusions: The application of modified kidney-qi decoction to treat primaryhypothyroidism with kidney-yang deficiency syndrome can improve clinical symptoms andincrease thyroxin level as well as regulate the body's immune function. With its reliable safeeffect, the decoction can be applied in wide use in clinic.
