Tongfuchengqitang Treatment Of Lumbar Perioperative Period Clinical Research Of Abdominal Distension

Abdominal distension is one of the common perioperative complications in lumbar spine surgery. This paper reviewed literatures of Chinese medicine and experiences of treatments of abdominal distension, combined with the cause of abdominal distension, pathology, diagnosis and treatment in modern medicine at home and abroad. This research focused on the complicated mechanisms and research of abdominal distension of back surgery peri-operative treatment in Chinese medicine.Objective: To evaluate the effects and advantages by using the Tongfuchengqitang to treat complicated abdominal distension in perioperative period of lumbar spine surgery.Methods: 60 cases with complication of abdominal distension in perioperative period of lumbar spine surgery in Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM were selected. All cases were devided randomly into two groups: 30 cases in treatmental group and 30 cases in control group. Treatmental group were given oral medicine: Tongfuchengqitang, control group were given oral Boschniakia glabra Rong Koufuye purge. We observed the symptoms score before and after the treatments as the main indicators and do statistical analysis between two groups after 3 days treatment.Results: The total effective rate of 30 cases in the treatmental group (Tongfuchengqitang) with complications of abdominal distension of peri-operative back surgery was 88.9%. There was no significant difference between the two groups by statistics.Conclusion: By discusing the mechanism of Tongfuchengqitang treating the abdominal distension in perioperative period of lumbar spine surgery, we think Tongfuchengqitang has considerable clinical advantages in the treatment of the abdominal distension in perioperative period of lumbar spine surgery.
