All the above three analysis will provide a scientific basis for the pertinence intervention measures that taken to improve the life quality of the empty nest elderly.Method: Select 1016 cases of empty nest elderly in Luyang, Shushan and Yaohai districts as our study objects through cluster sampling. We used self made questionnaires which were completed door to door by trained interviewers. Then a preliminary screening and analysis of these collected data were done.Result: There are some bad health behaviors among these empty nest elderly who live in city communities. From the tables we can see: (1) Breakfast skipping and irregular diet has statistical significance with different ages, education levels, careers, incomes and medical insurances (P<0.05). (2) Overweight has statistical significance with different sexes, education levels, careers, incomes and medical insurances (P<0.05). (3) Insufficient sleep time has statistical significance with different sexes, ages, education levels, careers, incomes and medical insurances (P<0.05). (4) Different sports activities has statistical significance with different ages, education levels, careers, incomes and medical insurances (P<0.05). (5) Drinking habit has statistical significance with different sexes, ages, education levels, careers, incomes (P<0.05). (6) Smoking has statistical significance with different sexes (P<0.05). By Logistic multiple regression analysis, we found that sex, age, medical insurance, career, income and education level (especially the first three) are all risk factors of health behavior for our study objects. The disease prevalence rate of our study population is 67.50%, which is lower than other places in China, and the main disease is hypertension. The prevalence rate of chronic diseases has no statistical significance with sex, age and drinking habit (P>0.5), while it has statistical significance with education level, career, income, medical insurance, breakfast, diet habit, weight, sleep status, exercise, drinking and smoking habits(P<0.5). After Logistic multiple regression analysis, we ca see that age, career, overweight and insufficient sleep time are risky factors for chronic diseases.Through investigating, we can see that 63.5% of the populations need health instruction; 63.8% of them need regular physical examination; 71.1% of them need family health services, and 2.9% need other services, which is higher than other places nationwide. Health instruction and Regular physical examination have statistical significance with different education levels, careers, incomes, medical insurances, prevalence rates of chronic diseases and self care ability (P<0.5). Family health service and family sickbed have statistical significance with different ages, incomes, prevalence rates of chronic diseases and self care ability (P<0.5). Logistic multiple regression analysis showed that age, education level, career, income, medical insurance, prevalence rate of chronic diseases and self care ability are all influencing factors of community health service demand among empty nest elderly in Hefei city. From the perspective of all the factors, the groups that we have to pay the highest attention are those patients with chronic diseases, those who can't care for themselves and those who have a low income. Conclusion: (1) The influencing factors of health behavior and the provenance rate of chronic diseases among the empty nest elderly are various; (2) The community health service demand of these people is high and has many influencing factors; (3) We should pay more attention to their health behavior, health status and community health service demand and make some useful measures to optimize resource allocation. We may improve the life quality of these empty nest elderly through efforts from individuals, families and the society.
