Objective:To investigate the effects of calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP) on matrix metalloproteinase-3(MMP-3)/tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1) of human osteoblasts cell on statie tension-stress in vitro. Methods:Cultured human osteoblasts cell line in vitro, then stimulating them by different concentration CGRP and 12%statie tension-stress for 24 hours. And using the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) to detect the expression of MMP-3 and TIMP-1.Results:(1)In the vitro cultured human osteoblasts cell line, MMP-3mRNA expression was down-regulated on the 12%statie tension-stress(P<0.05).(2) In the vitro cultured human osteoblasts cell line,TIMP-1mRNA expression was up-regulated on the 12%statie tension-stress(P<0.05).Conclusion:CGRP can down-regulate MMP-3 expression amd up-regulate TIMP-1 expression in the vitro cultured human osteoblasts cell line on statie tension-stress.CGRP may play a important role in rebuilding of periodontium in orthodontia tooth movement during neural regulation by down-regulating the ratio of MMP-3/TIMP-1.
