Objective: Discuss the procedure and the value of G-banding, FISH and CGH used in prenatal diagnosis. Methods: (1) Collection of the samples: collect 101 amniotic fluid (AF) samples in our laboratory according with the indication of prenatal diagnosis. (2) The procedures of diagnosis are as follows: The first step: G-banding analysis was carried out in 101 patients. The second step: FISH technology was carried out in the case of failure of diagnosis in the first step. The third step: CGH technology was carried out in the cases still not been diagnosed by the above-mentioned methods. Results: (1) After the firt step, the rates are 99.01% in successfully carrying out the experiment and 97.03% of which can provide the diagnosis. (2) After the second step, the rates are 100% in successfully carrying out the experiment and 99.01% of which can provide the diagnosis. (3) After the third step, the rates are 100% in successfully carrying out the experiment and 100% of which can provide the diagnosis. Conclusion: Based on the G-banding technique, and combination with FISH, CGH can improve the accurate prenatal diagnosis rate.
