Objective: In order to explore the optimum treatment program and prognosis of adult GBS.Method: We performed retrospective analysis of the original data of the 104 patients during the period of August 2005 to March 2009.Result: In the 104 cases of patients,30 cases were cured,29 cases were excellence,17 cases were improved,23 cases were ineffective and 4 cases dead. The mortality was 3.8%.In general treatment group, no patient was fully recover, and the mortality of 3 patients of serious type GBS were 66.7%.In Corticosteroids group, no patient was fully recover. In Standard Plasma Exchange group, the cure rates of light and medium type were respectively 60% and 33.3%.In Low-dose PE group, the cure rates of light and medium type were respectively 66.7% and 41.7%.In Immunoadsorption Plasmapheresis group, the cure rates of light and medium type were respectively 66.7% and 50%.In Intravenous Immunoglobulin group, the cure rates of light and medium type were respectively 60% and 40%.Conclusion: The treatment of Corticosteroids had negative effect in patients of GBS while the treatment of Standard Plasma Exchange had positive effect. Low-dose Plasma Exchang,Immunoadsorption Plasmapheresis and Intravenous Immunoglobulin had similar effects to the Standard Plasma Exchange method as treatment for GBS.
