Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the theory of Zhu Yang Qian Yang on Essential Hypertension. Methods: 60 patients of EH were randomly divided into treatment group (30cases) and control group (30cases). Qian Yang Dan Jia Wei was provided to treatment group. The control group were dosed the prescription Benazepril. 4 weeks was a course of treatment. Results: In the treatment group, the total effective rate of step down and was 80.0%, which was no significantl difference between 2 groups (P>0. 05). The total effective rate of symptom and physical sign was 90.0%, which was significantly better than the control group (P<0.01). The difference of TC, TG, LDL-C and HDL-C in 2 groups were no statistical significance (P>0.05). Blood viscosity (high shear rate), plasma viscosity of micrangium and Fibrinogen were steped down in 2 groups (P<0.01 or P<0.05). Blood viscosity (high shear rate) was significantly better than the control group (P<0. 05). Conclusion: This research enriched the theory of TCM treating hypertension, which conformed the clinical effect of Qian Yang Dan Jia Wei and made a firm foundation for further study.
