Experimental Study On The Efficacy And Mechanism Of Bitong Decoction On The Treatment Of Rats With Allergic Rhinitis

Objiective: Observe the curative effect of Bitong Decoction which the therapeutical principles is expelling wind,relieving stuffy nose,eliminating phlegm and removing stasis to promote blood circulation on the treatment of rats with allergic rhinitis,to study the treating mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Method: Estabishing rat's AR model with sixty rats,four groups are involved which are the normal group,the AR group,the AR Chinese traditional medicine group,the AR Western medicine group.The all groups are given by pouring into stomach individually with 0.9% NaCl solution Chinese medicine and Western medicine according to the equivalent of person to rats.It performs once everyday for four weeks.During this period,we measuring the content of NOS enzyme activity,IL-4,IgE in serum.After four weeks,we collect the tissue of nasal mucosa of the rats.Results:â‘ Observation of nasal symptoms on the AR rats before and after treatment and marks showed that,before teatment,the nasal symptoms of normal group had significant differences with other three groups,after treatment,symptoms of TCM group had no obvious difference compared with that of Western medicine group(P>0.05),while both had lower marks than mode group(P<0.01),and had no obvious difference compared with that of normal group(P>0.05).â‘¡D etection of NOS enzyme activity in serum: Before teatment,the nasal symptoms of normal grop had significant differences with other three groups,after treatment,symptoms of TCM group had no obvious difference compared with that of Western medicine group(P>0.05),while both had lower marks than mode group(P<0.01),and had no obvious difference compared with that of normal group(P>0.05).â‘¢Detection of IgE in serum: Before teatment,the nasal symptoms of normal grop had significant differences with other three groups,after treatment,symptoms of TCM group had lower marks than mode group(P<0.01),while had difference compared with that of Western medicine group(P<0.05),and had no obvious difference compared with that of normal group(P>0.05).â‘£D etection of IL-4 in serum: Before teatment,the nasal symptoms of normal grop had significant differences with other three groups,after treatment,symptoms of TCM group had lower marks than mode group(P<0.01),while had difference compared with that of Western medicine group(P<0.05),and had no obvious difference compared with that of normal group(P>0.05).Conclusions: The Bitong decoction,whose effect is expelling wind and relieving stuffy nose and eliminating phlegm and removing stasis to promote blood circulation,has good effect to treat AR,which means the apearance of phlegm and blood stasis is the pathological changes of AR.The therapeutic resulst of Bitong decoction are associated with its effects which decrease the NOS enzyme activity in serum and the content of IL-4 and IgE in serum.So we make clear the partial mechanism of Bitong decoction to treat AR and exploit a new thinking of treating AR in TCM.
