BackgroundEye axial length means the distance from the cornea to the retina,it is one of the frequently used biological parameters in ophthalmology.Eye axial length is significant in mobility of myopia,meanwhile it is the important index in estimation of clinical artificial lens.In recent years,we use more and more eye axial length measurement in clinical work as the increase of the myopia incidence and the development of ophthalmologic surgery.So,a more comprehensive grasp of the axial length of the region and to explore the impact of its possible influencing factors,prevention and treatment for myopia based on a certain job,and eye information to further improve the epidemiological investigation.Materials and methods1,source of research subjectsSince July 2007 to December 2007 in Dadong communities,Shenyang,Liaoning Province,we do the epidemiologic investigation of a sample composed of natural crowd from 20 years old to 70 years old.A total of 1236 people were examined,from which 1129 people has the complete data.Subjects were verbally agreed to accept all the inspections.2,Content and methodsAll research subjects questionnaire including name,gender,ethnicity,age, education level,occupation and other basic information;we obtain the fasting blood glucose(FBG),2 hours postprandial blood glucose,HDL-C,LDL-C,TG,TC; Weight(Kg)and hight(cm)waistline(cm)was measured without shoes,hat,with only thin clothes and trousers.Measurement of horizon circumference through the Iliac ridge line under the hibateral costal arch with GUICK2 measuring tape;Blood pressure measured by the professional technician,were measured after 5 minutes rest,left upper arm blood pressure,sitting position,two times interval of 5 minutes,two times less than the difference between measured 2mmHg(0.133kpa),taken as twice the average value of Record.Eye axial length measurement with A type supersonic:the subject take the dorsal position,measure five times after the surface anesthesia of the cornea,delete the large variation data,take the average value after measurement once again.Separation criteria of dioptric(se<-3.00D is low myopia,-3.00D~-6.00D is midrange myopia;>-6.00D is excessive myopia);stigmatism standard is-0.25D~+0.5D;far sight standard(<+3.00D is low hypermetropia;+3.00D~+6.00D is medium hypermetropia;>+6.00D is high hypermetropia).3,Quality controlMeasuring instrument after the standardization of a unified,professional measurement,review,to ensure the accuracy of the data.And quality control requirements throughout the entire research process,including the training of investigators,pre-survey,on-site surveys and data collation and analysis.4,Statistical analysisAll the data was analyzed using the SPSS 16.0 software,the data was demonstrated byx~?±s,each group the results of measurement data use t test,analysis of variance,the possible impact of single-factor analysis of the factors,the factors with dependency use multiple regression model.Significance standard of statistics isα=0.05. s,each group the results of measurement data use t test,analysis of variance,the possible impact of single-factor analysis of the factors,the factors with dependency use multiple regression model.Significance standard of statistics isα=0.05. Results1,General circumstanceThe total community residents number is 1166 in Dadong district,Shenyang,from which 1129 had complete data(37 people cannot do the measurement because of the atrophia bulbi,artificial eye,using contact lens or infective disease of eye surface).Of those male 408 people,female 721 people,sex and age group disposition are uniformity.2,simple factor analysisInvestigation factors,composed of sex,nation,age,education degree,income, height,weight,waistline line,hip circumference,blood pressure(systolic pressure/diastolic pressure),fasting blood glucose,120 minutes blood glucose,HDL-C, LDL-C,TG,TC,eye sight,eye pressure,was analysis with eye axial length respectively.Among all the factors,refraction has the most intimate relationship with the eye axial lenth,and then the height,weight,fasting blood glucose,120 minutes blood glucose,TG,LDL-C and eye pressure.3,The multiple regression analysis of the factors affect eye axial lengthThe impact of selected factors in multivariate regression model selected by the end of the influencing factors into the model for the refractive status,height,education level, 120 minutes blood glucose,eye pressure income,LDL and heart rate.Refractive effect of the axial length is the largest,followed by height.Conclusion 1,The eye axial length has statistical difference between Genders. 2,refraction has significant relationship with eye axial length,:the partial regression coefficient of refraction,was negative,demonstrate that as the increasing of the data,it had the negative effection on eye axial length.The most related factor is refraction,and then the height,which play a possitive effection on eye axial length,so is the blood glucose and eye pressure.3,The normal sight group compare with the other six groups,there are statistical difference between the groups except the low myopia group and high hypermetropia group.These results demonstrate that low myopia cannot prolong the eye axial length, while the middle,high myopia had a larger effection on eye axial length. Hypermetropia has influence on the change of eye axial length.
