Objective :To assess the systolic synchrony of the left ventricular by Omnidirectional M-mode Echocardiography(OME).Material and Methods:Thirty cases of patients with dilated cardio- myopathy(DCM)and thirty healthy subjects were enrolled in this study . Two dimensional echocardiography(2DE) and full volume real-time tri-plane tissue Doppler imaging were performed in all subjects . The study of short-axis sections at mitral valve level and papillary muscle level were recorded and analyzed by LEJ-2 OME system. According to the 16 segments model formulated by American Society of Echocardio- graphy, the time to peak systolic movement(Tm)in the LV short-axis views were measured by OME with manu and auto analysis . The standard deviation and dispersion of Tm,the Septal-to- posterior wall motion delay(Spwmd),the Septal-to-laterior wall motion delay(Slwmd) and the Anterior-to-inferior wall motion delay(Aiwmd) were used as indicators of systolic dyssynchrony.Real-Time Tri-plane tissue Doppler images were record and the time to peak velocity (Ts) of left ventricular 12 segments were analyzed with GE'ECHOPAC workstation , the standard deviation and dispersion of Ts were used as indicators of systolic dyssynchrony. The relation between omni- directional M-mode echocardiography and tissue synchronization imaging was analyzed. Results: The results obstained by Omni-directional M-mode echocardio- graphy:â‘ The Tm values of all segments but mid-lateral wall were not significant between the dilated cardiomyopathy group and the control group (P> 0.05).â‘¡Compared with control group, the standard deviation and dispersion of Tm in LV 12 segments, the standard deviation and dispersion of Tm in middle level 6 segments and the Spwmd and the Aiwmd of middle level were significantly greater in the dilated cardiomyopathy group (P <0.05).â‘¢Compared with control group, the standard deviation and dispersion of Tm in LV 12 segments, the standard deviation and dispersion of Tm in middle level 6 segments, the standard deviation and dispersion of Tm in basal level 6 segments were significantly greater in the dilated cardiomyopathy group (P <0.05).â‘£The standard deviation and dispersion of Tm in LV 12 segments have correlation with left ventricular ejection fraction (P <0.001). 2. Relation analysis of results that obtained by Omni-directional M-mode echocardiography and tissue Doppler imaging.â‘ OME derived synchronization parameters correlated with TSI derived synchronization parameters(P<0.001).â‘¡The assessment of left ventricular systolic synchronicity base on OME is corresponding to TSI(Kappa>0). Conclusions: Omni-directional M-mode echocardiography has the ability to evaluate synchrony of the left ventricular contraction . There were relativity and consistency found between synchronization parameters which measured by OME and TSI.
