Objective: The study aims at observing the therapeutic efficacy of the superficial hemangiomas, the choice of the indication and the prevention of the adverse effects by the high-frequency electrocoagulation using fine needle. Methods: Between Junly 2007 and June 2008,the 184 cases (197 Lesions)with hemangiomas were treated with high-frequency electrocoagulation using fine needle in department of plastic and aesthetic, the first affiliated hospital of Guangxi Medical University.Analysising of the clinical date, treatment effects, indications and complication of all cases. Results: 1.clinical effects and following up: The care rate and obvious effects rate of the total cases were respetively 53.3% and 35%,and the total effective rate was 88.3%.All the patients were followed up for 6-17 months. 2.Adverse effect: Among 197 lesions,30 lesions presented pigmentation (15.2%),12 lesions had superficial scar (6.1%),2 lesions had local infection (1%),and no other adverse reactions and accidental injury.Conclusions:1.The therapeutic efficacy of high-frequency electrocoagulation using fine needle for superficial hemangiomas is satisfactory. It is safe, efficiency therapeutic technique and easy for surgeons to operate. It utmostly remains normal anatomic form and function. 2. The therapeutic method is suitable for the treatment of middle or small hemangionmas,in addition which can be treated by combining other methods. 3. High-frequency electrocoagulation using fine needle has risk of pigment, scarring and local infection, which may be related with many factors, such as the extension of lesions, the treatment operation and the unsuitable nursing of lesions etal, therefore,we must be cautions in the therapeutic process.
