Objective: To evaluate the medium-term efficacy of Antiplatelet therapy in patients with coronary heart disease treated by Firebird stentsMethods: From 2004 to 2007,a total of 635 consecutive patients with CAD who received Firebird stent implantation in our hospital. These patients were divided into three groups based on the time of applying asprin and Clopidogrel .Major adverse cardiac events(MACE)including cardiac death,non-fatal myocardialin farction ,heart fail or target vessel revascularization in Clinical follow-up after initial procedure were compared among these three groups.Result:(1) Mean follow-up duration was 28 months after stent implanting. Rate of MACE occurrence in the group of apllying asprin and Clopidogrel over 6 months (5.6%) were much lower than other groups, there was significant difference among these groups(12.0%,10.8%,P<0.05). (2) Rate of non-fatal myocardial infarction ,heart fail , target vessel revascularization and bleeding occurrence in the group of apllying asprin and Clopidogrel over 6 months were much lower than other groups, there was significant difference among these groups(P<0.05). (3) But the rate of cardiac death and angina was not significant difference among these groups(P>0.05).Conclusion: The Clinical follow-up show that the group of apllying asprin and Clopidogrel Continued until 12 months has a definite clinical efficacy in the patients with CAD who received Firebird stent implantation ,which can reduce the occurrence of MACEs(major including non-fatal myocardialin farction ,heart fail and target vessel revascularization).
