Objective To evaluate the immunologic function,and tolerance of domestic thymopentin(TP-5) in post-chemotherapeutic cancer children,and the effect on the level of minimal residual disease of acute lymphocytic leukemia.Methods Forty malignant tumor children were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group(TP-5) and contrast group.Thymopentin was administered to the treatment group for 6 months(<30kg,10mg per time,once per week;≥30kg,10mg per time,twice per week).No therapy was administered to the contrast group.Cell-mediated immunologic function(CD3,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+),Natural killer cells function(CD56),humoral immunologic function(IgG,IgM,IgA) were measured after 3 months and 6 months.Liver function,renal function,blood and ECG were tested regularly.Results(1) There're no significant differences in the immunologic function between treatment group and contrast group before therapy..(P>0.05).(2)The cell-mediated immunologic function(CD3,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+) was not obviously different between the two group after 3months(P>0.05),while Natural killer cells function(CD56), humoral immunologic function(IgG,IgM,IgA) were significantly elevated after TP -5 administration of 3 months.(tCD56=2.98,tIgG=2.49,tIgM=2.24,tIgA=2.33,P均<0.05) (3)After TP-5 administration of 6 months,all the immunologic function were I i, significantly improved(tCD3=4.88,tCD4+=5.16,tCD8+=4.42,tCD4+/CDS+=3.45,t,CD56=4.16, tlgG=5.76,tigM=5.02,tlgA=5.25,P '2"J<0.01 ).(4)There're great distinction between 3 months and 6 months after TP-5 administration.(5)During the observation of 6months,the rate of infection in treatment group(15%)was much lower than that(65%) in the contrast group (Z2=9.30,P<0.01 ).The time that infection was controlled was different between the two groups((t=4.40,P<0.01 ).(6)During the treatment of 6 months,only one child had an ache of the injective site,and the abnormality of liver function,renal function and ECG changes were not observed;(7)There're no significant differences in the levelofminimal residual disease(MRD) of acute lymphoblastic leukemia between two group before therapy(P>0.05);(8)Compared to the contrast group,the level of MRD was significantly improved after TP-5 administration of 6 months;(t=3.73 P<0.01)(9) After TP-5 administration of 6 months,the level of MRD was obviously lower than that of before therapy(t=5.54 P<0.01).Conclusions TP-5 administration of 6 months can significantly improve the cell-mediated immunologic function,Natural killer cells function and humoral immunologic function.,and also reduce the rate of the infection in post-chemotherapeutic cancer children.It's effective and safe in the clinical application.It could play the important role in lowering the level of minimal residual diseas of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
