Objective To investigate the expression of survivin in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of patients with psoriasis vulgaris and explore its rolein the development of psoriasis vulgaris.Method Peripheral blood mononuclear cells were separated and RNA was abstracted from 30 patients with psoriasis vulgaris and 10 normal controls. All patients were divided into progressive stage, static stage and regression stage. Each group contains 10 samples. We extracted each sample 10ml venous blood.RT-PCR technique was applied to semi-quantitatively analyze the mRNA expressions and Western Blot technique to semi-quantitatively analyze the expressions of survivin protein. Results The expression of survivin mRNA:progressive stage group(0.9362±0.0097)>static stage group(0.5589±0.0074)>regression stage group(0.0790±0.0045)>control group(0.0174±0.0030).The expression of survivin protein:progressive stage group(1.1103±0.0053)>static stage group(0.7570±0.0055)>regression stage group(0.5370±0.0055)>control group(0.2950±0.0050).The results have the statistical significance(p<0.05).Conclusion Survivin mRNA and protein were expressed in all the samples, but the expression of survivin mRNA and protein in patients had a significantly higher level than that in normal.Survivin may play an important role in the immune pathogenesis of psoriasis vulgaris. The expression of survivin is largely related to the psoriasis vulgaris clinical stages.
