Pathologic Mechanism Study On Dermatomyositis

Dermatomyositis,mainly characterized by heliotrope sign and progressive symmetrical myasthenia on proximal extremities,is a idiopathic inflammatory myopathies involving the skin and muscle.Although many hypothesizes have been made,its exact mechanism is uncertain.Auto-immunologic dysregulation is the pathologic basis.Various cytokines,chemokines and adhesion molecules involve the immune process.Infection and environment play roles of causative factors.In addition,heredity and tumor,are correlated to onset of DM.it is highly significant to clarify the pathogenesis for directing the clinical diagnosis and treatment.
