Clinical Observation Of The Treatment Effects Of Tongfengtai Granules In Dampness-heat Gout

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical efficacy of Tongfengtai Granules(a mixture of Chinese medicinal herbs) combined with Delayed Release Cupsules Diclofenac Sodium for the treatment of gout.Detect blood serum uric acid (BUA),C-reactive protein(CRP),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR), cytokines(Interleukin -1β(IL-1β),Interleukin -8(IL-8)) and the adverse reactions for comparison with Delayed Release Cupsules Diclofenac Sodium only.Then investigate the distinction between anti-inflammatory,analgesic and adverse reactions in the two groups in order to provide the basis of Tongfengtai Granules combined with Delayed Release Cupsules Diclofenac Sodium for clinical application.MethodsWe selected 60 patients who were diagnosed GA,the patients were randomly divided into two groups.One was treated with Tongfengtai Granules and Diclofenac Sodium Sustained Release Tablets(A group),the others was treated with Diclofenac Sodium Sustained Release Tablets only(B group),obtained two sets of low-purine diet,alcohol.Results1.The clinical total effective rate of 85.71%in group A,group B 68.00% were significant differences(P＜0.05).2.The two groups were observed after treatment to alleviate joint pain, inter-group comparison,the time to ease joint pain and swelling disappeared. There was no significant difference in time(P＞0.05).3.After treatment,Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate(ESR),C-reactive Protein(CRP) were remarkably different(P＜0.01) in A group,significantly different in B group(P＜0.05) and significantly different when compared A with B group(P＜0.05). 4.Before treatment,the level of cytokines of the A group and B group were no significant difference(P＞0.05),but statistically significant declined after the treatment(P＜0.05).The level of cytokines of the A group remarkably decreased after treatment(P＜0.01),significant declined compared to B group(P＜0.05).5.2 cases of damage to the gastrointestinal system in B group,8.0%; 2 cases of A group,5.7%.1 cases of liver and kidney dysfunction in B group, 4.0%;0 in A group.2 cases of skin lesion and accessory in B group,8.0%; 1 in A group,2.9%.All had no significantly differences(P＞0.05).ConclusionThe therapeutic effects of Tongfengtai Granules combined with Delayed Release Cupsules Diclofenac Sodium on GA may partially related to down regulating BUA,CRP,ESR,cytokine IL-1β,IL-8 of the peripheral blood and adverse reactions were relatively small when compared with using Delayed Release Cupsules Diclofenac Sodium only on GA.It prompted that a combination of two may do better.
