The Impact Of Electro-acupuncture The Chorea-Trembling Controlled Area Of Parkinson's Patients And Preliminary Study Of Its Efficacy

Objective:Parkinson' s Disease(PD),also named as parelysis agitans,is a kind of neurodegenerative disease,which usually occurs in middle-aged or senile patients.At present,there is no medicine or surgical which is effective enough to stop the development of this disease.A large number of clinical research and experimental studies had shown that acupuncture can improve symptoms of tremor and control the progression of this disease.But the objective evidence is not sufficient.Functional magnetic resonance imaging as an observation which non-invasive and convenient,has the advantage in the diagnosis of PD and the observation of the curative effect.Therefore,by observing the impact of Electro-acupuncture the Chorea-Trembling Controlled Area of Parkinson's patients,we elementary discuss the immediate result and mechanism of acupuncture to PD.It will provid new evidence,which further improve the level of early diagnosis Parkinson's disease specificitily and sensitivitil.So that treatment of neurological protection can be used earlier,and the life quality of patients can be improved.Methods:Chosing 10 cases of Parkinson's disease.To evaluate their UPDRS, subjective symptoms Scale and fMRI before and after electro-acupuncture the Chorea-Trembling Controlled Area.Recording its scale and Brain functional magnetic resonance data,using paired T test to analysis the impact of acupuncture on FMRI and its immediate effect.Results:â‘ The UPDRS Partâ…¢score was no significant difference(P> 0.05) before and after the acupuncture treatment.â‘¡After 20min of the treatment, there was no significant changes in in patients' subjective symptoms.The day after the acupuncture treatment,there was improvement in their tremor,fatigue, pain,sleep,anxiety,depression and so on.There were significances in statistics including their tremor,fatigue,sleep and anxiety.â‘¢After the acupuncture,local consistencies of the brain regions were enhance,including the left supplementary motor area,inferior frontal gyrus(IFG),left middle frontal gyrus,left postcentral gyrus,inferior parietal lobule and the rostral caudatum;local consistencies were reduce including gyri lingualis and left precuneus.It means there are clear differences before and after acupuncture treatment in some part of the brain region.Conclusion:â‘ After Electro-acupuncturing the Chorea-Trembling Controlled Area,the UPDRS Partâ…¢scores of patients were no significant difference within a short period.â‘¡After Electro-acupuncturing the Chorea-Trembling Controlled Area,patients were no significant changes in subjective symptoms within a short period.But the day after acupuncture,the tremor,fatigue, sleep,anxiety of the patients were significant improved.â‘¢before and after electro-acupuncturing the Chorea-Trembling Controlled Area,fMRI showed that local consistencies of the brain regions were enhance,including the left supplementary motor area,inferior frontal gyrus(IFG),left middle frontal gyrus,left postcentral gyrus,inferior parietal lobule and the rostral caudatum;local consistencies were reduce including gyri lingualis and left precuneus.It means there are clear differences before and after acupuncture treatment in some part of the brain regions correlated with pathology.â‘£There is a correlation exists between Local consistency and function of the brain regions.Electro-acupuncturing the Chorea-Trembling Controlled Area maybe improve PD symptoms by improving the function of the cerebral cortex and striatum.
