Objectives:This study is on the development states of the second metacarpal cortical and the bone mineral content in children and adolescents in recent 20 years.It makes further discusses on law and tecular trends of the bone cortical development and may have significant implication for revealing the law of bone's development in children and adolescents,thus provide theoretical basis for subsequent research on the growth and development of children and adolescents.Methods:5533 samples(normal children and adolescents aged from 3 to 19,male 2551, female 2982) are chosen and the standard samples are selected according to "The Skeletal Development Standards of bone for Chinese Children-CHN Method" and "The Skeletal Development Standards of Hand and Wrist for Chinese Children-Chinese 05".All children's left wrists were inspected with X ray during 15 days after their birthday,and their body height and weight were measured.With precisely to 0.02mm Vernier caliper in the second metacarpal bone center point spot,surveys the palm backbone transverse diameter and the medullary cavity of bones width,The diameter of the combined cortical thickness was obtained by subtracting the value of the marrow cavity from that of the bone transverse diameter,according to Barnett formula computation metacarpal cortical index.Metacarpal cortical index equivalent is measured on the bone center point cross section cortical thickness eliminates this bone center point bone transverse diameter multiplication 100%.Results:1985-2005,The investigated results of 3-19 years children and adolescents are as follows:Bone cortical thickness average growth the boys was 0.12m±0.23mm,the girls was 0.10±0.11mm After masculine bone cortical thickness enters the puberty(11-19years) to have the significance difference,11 years start the bone cortical thickness interpolation to increase gradually,to 14 years old when the maximizing,differs 0.44mm,hereafter the interpolation reduces gradually;The girls' bone cortical thickness 50th percentile close,after enters the puberty,the only 12 years old had the significance difference(P<0.001),13 year old,16 year old of group bone bone cortical thickness are lower than in 1985 year,other age groups did not have the significance difference,when to 17 years old,only missed 0.02mm. Metacarpal cortical index average growth the boys was 1%±3%,the girls was 2%±1%. The majority of age group metacarpal cortical index 50th percentile is close,After the masculine 14 year old the difference is extremely obvious(P<0.001),To 17 years old when maximizing the interpolation is 8%.The girls majority of age difference has the significance, some 5-6 year old,11 year old,15-16 year old does not only have the significance difference, Other age groups have the significance difference,to 19 years old when maximizing,the interpolation is 6%.Height,body weight and CCT,MCI correlational dependence change was not big in 2005 year.In 1985 year boys CCT and height,weight correlation coefficient was 0.870, 0.855,the girls was 0.861,0.869;The boys MCI and height,weight correlation coefficient is 0.472,the boys is 0.601,0.596.In 2005 the boys CCT and height,the body weight correlation coefficient is 0.881,0.838,the girls is 0.829,0.801;the boys MCI and height,weight correlation coefficient respectively is 0.655,0.647,the girls is 0.562,0.538,has the significance(P<0.01).Height,the body weight the influence has not changed to MCI,height and MCI regression coefficient is bigger than the body weight and MCI regression coefficient,in 2005.In 1985 height and weight regression coefficient was 0.177,0.304,the girls was 0.342, 0.282,had the significance.In 2005 height and weight regression coefficient is 0.439,0.249, the girls is 0.415,0.162,has the significance(P<0.01).Conclusions:①1985-2005,children and adolescents had the bone cortical growth tecular trend.②1985-2005,the different age children and adolescents height,weight and CCT,MCI correlational dependence change is not big;1985-2005,the result of multiple regression analysis shows that,the different children and adolescents height,body weight the influence basically has not changed to MCI.
