Syndrome differentiation of formulas is a new method of syndrome differentiation which has been paid great attention gradually with continuously profound and wide study on correlation since the professor proposed dialectical system of syndrome differentiation of formulas for the first time. The research objects are to investigate the regularities of Dacheng qi decoction on main symptoms, accompanied symptoms, tongue demonstration, pulse manifestation, etiology and pathogenesis, diagnosis, differentiated diagnosis, therapeutic methods, herbs and the modified Dahuang Chengqi decoction.Research methods: The research are based on literature induction combining with modern statistics analysis as well as ancient literature connecting with contemporary reports. First of all, collect proved cases of Dacheng Qi decoction in ancient and modern medical records and magazines, simultaneously write them into database. Secondly, adopt frequency analysis and factor analysis method resulting in systematic theoretical discussion from statistical results. Conclusion:1. The main symptoms of syndrome of decoction Dacheng qi tang are retention of feces, abdominal fullness and distention, abdominal pain, fever, dry mouth and thirst, brownish urine, nausea and vomiting.2. The accompanied symptoms of syndrome of decoction Dacheng qi tang are poor appetite, reddish complexion, coma, gruff breathing, foul breath, red eyes, delirium, headache, dyspnea, desire for drink, dry lips, sweating.3. The tongue demonstration of syndrome of decoction Dacheng qi tang are red tongue or darkish red tongue with rough yellowish coat or yellowish greasy coat, and the pulse manifestation shows combination of rapid pulse, wiry pulse, slippery pulse and deep pulse.4. The etiology and pathogenesis of syndrome of decoction Dacheng qi tang are that pathogenic dryness-heat combining with interior retention of dry feces and indigestion caused by many reasons obstruct activity of fu-organs qi.5. The diagnosism of syndrome of decoction Dacheng qi tang requires clinical symptoms in combination with medical history, one item of the following diagnostic evidences should be concluded:â‘ retention of feces concomitant with more than one item of main systems, more than two items of accompanied symptoms and more than one item of tongue demonstrations as well as pulse manifestations.â‘¡abdominal fullness and distention or abdominal pain associated with more than two items of other main symptoms, more than two items of accompanied symptoms and more than one item of tongue demonstrations as well as pulse manifestations.6. Syndrome of decoction Dacheng qi tang should be differentiated from syndrome of decoction Xiaocheng qi tang, syndrome of decoction Tiaowei Chengqi tang, syndrome of decoction Mazi Ren pill as well as syndrome of decoction dahuang fuzi tang.7. The therapeutic methods of Syndrome of decoction Dacheng qi tang are drastic purgation of excess-heat, removing interior retention of dryness, promoting qi to relieving stagnation; or preserving yin by emergent purgation and taking away firewood from under the cauldron.8. The treatment and prescription of syndrome of decoction Dacheng qi tang is Dacheng qi decoction9. The modified Dahuang Chengqi decoction has some regular pattern according to various main symptoms, accompanied symptoms and different diseases.
