Object:To define the connotation of wording of information from the TCM four diagnostic methods on menstrual diseases. To explore the methods of standardization of symptoms taking the literature of medical records as the basis. To provide theoretical support for the standardization of TCM. Methods:The connotation of the information from the TCM four diagnostic methods about menstrual diseases were defined and standardized taking the textbook of TCM Diagnostics as the basis, taking the statistical results of database on medical records of famous doctors and some other relative books about TCM symptoms as the reference. Results:The properties of information from the TCM four diagnostic methods of menstruation diseases were abstracted, symptom unit of menstruation and its constraints were defined. The symptom unit with the high occurrence probability and the connation of its constraints were defined through arranging information from four diagnostic methods of menstruation in the medical records. Conclusions:standardizing the description of the information from four diagnostic methods, the symptom unit and unifying the symptom units and its constraints, making the connation clearer to clinical practice and teaching, creating a method of standardizing symptoms having TCM characteristics, offering the theoretical support for the standardization of TCM.
