PurposeThe aim of this article is to evaluate the short-term efficacy of advanced cervical cancer therapy by Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy(IMRT),to compared with conventional radiotherapy and dose distribution of the dangerous target organ, and at the same time to verify the determination of PCNA which can be used as a means of prognostic evaluation of cervical cancer.Method32 cases of advanced cervical cancer patients were randomly divided into two groups.13 cases were given by IMRT of 45GY/23f,and 19 cases were given by conventional radiotherapy for full pelvic of 45GY/23f.The group of IMRT was designed by 4-field box treatment plan simultaneously, and carried out the dose comparison studyResultFollowed-up by 2-18 months,Cancer alleviate situation and remission time of IMRT group were significantly superior to those of conventional radiotherapy group. Complications:IMRT group:Bone marrow(BM)suppression<â…¡degree 4 cases (30.8%).Rectal injury<â…¡degree 5 cases(38.5%).â…¢degree of rectal injury was 1 case which was much lower than the conventional radiotherapy group. For each of the 13 patients, the volume of IM-WPRT treatment plan compared with that of conventional radiotherapy treatment plan.IMRT had higher conformal degree and Target had a better dose distribution.Comparison of the two at 40Gy,30Gy,20Gy dose level of different bone marrow, rectum, bladder, femoral head size by irradiation, the results showed that IMRT than conventional radiation treatment of bone marrow, rectum, bladder, head of irradiation to reduce the size of 21%,respectively,30%,31%,25%.It is mean that the intensity modulated radiation therapy reduced the volume of the surrounding normal tissues by irradiation significantly. In IMRT group,13 patients received biopsy both before and after radiation therapy, and had a PCNA determination. The results showed that the expression rate of a high degree of radiation-sensitive strong PCNA is 80%and that of low degree radiation-sensitive strong PCNA is 25%.ConclusionPatients of advanced cervical cancer treatment by IMRT was satisfied with the recent, and the recent remission rate compared with conventional radiotherapy is 84.6%. IMRT can achieve a better distribution of the target and reduce the irradiated volume of dangerous organ significantly;Determination of PCNA can be used as a means of prognostic evaluation of cervical cancer.
