Objective: To assess the accuracy of the computer-assisted simulation system fororthognathic surgery. Methods: The sample consisted of 25 patients with jaw facial deformity treated withorthognathic surgery. When the lateral cephalograms and color lateral photos beforesurgery of these patients were input to the CASSOS 2001 system, carry outcephalometric analysis and simulative orthognathic surgery and predicted color lateralphotos. Then input the lateral cephalograms after surgery to the CASSOS 2001 system, carry out cephalometric analysis. Choose ten parameters and compared predictedpresurgical parameters with actual postsurgical parameters. Results :Four parameters of hard tissue and five parameters of soft tissue in this studyare similar, only one parameter of soft tissue is statistical differences. Conclusion: CASSOS 2001 system for the simulation of hard tissue is precise. Thesimulation of sofe tissue has a little shortcoming, especially the prediction of lip.Individual difference and the maxillomandibular interaction have a large influence.
