| Primary angiosarcoma of the breast(PAB)is a rare type of mammary maligant sarcoma, about 0.05%of all the malignant tumour of breast. The form of PAB occured in bilateral breast is even more infrequantly.Since little is known about the biology of this rare tumour,it is useful to report every such case,in order to make as much information as possible available in the medical literature. We present the case of a 39-year-old Chinese woman with a PAB treated by mastectomy of right breast in 2005, then another tumor was found in the contralat breast and treated by mastectomy in 2008. The diagnosis of angiosarcoma of the breast was confirmed.Chemotherapy was not prescribed. The rarity and the poor prognosis of this disease caused us great interest, especially originated in bilateral breast. The authors review the literature and summarize relevant findings concerning definition, pathology, clinical picture, treatment, and follow-up.Positive ratio of endothelial cell makers(Anti-Fâ…§R,CD31,CD34,UEA-1,et al) and VEGF is relatively high.Besides fine needle aspiration and biopsy, Ultrasound,X-ray and MRI may help to diagnosis. We think that the survival rate depends on tumor size and tumor differentiation.Surgical resection followed by chemotherapy may be proved to be effective in future and afford the best prognosis. The effect of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and targeted therapy is still in progress. |
