Objective To evaluate the results of laparoscopic versus open repair for perforated peptic ulcers. Methods The clinical data of 48 cases were retrospectively reviewed.24 cases were performed laparoscopically, and 24 cases underwent open procedure. The operative time, score of pain after operation and the postoperative analgetic requirements, discharge gas time, complications rate and hospital stay were compared respectively. Results The operative time was(62.9±13.26)mins in laparoscopic group vs.((85.5±25.02)mins in open group(P<0.05).The score of pain after operation was (3.00±1.02)vs.(6.67±1.20)(P<0.05).The number of postoperative analgetic requirements was 0 vs.13,The discharge gas time was(2.62±0.64)d vs.(3.95±0.80)d (P=0.0000),and the postoperative complications were observed in 3 cases vs.8 cases(p>0.05).The hospital stay was(7.8±5.3)d vs.(10.3±2.6)d(P<0.05).Conclusions laparoscopic Repair has many advantages:less invasive, rapaid recovery, short stay time in hospital, better anesthetic.so laparoscopical operation is a safe and effective method to treat perforated peptic ulcers.
